Tuesday Thoughts

Sorry I have been MIA lately...only 4 days really...take away the weekend because NO ONE blogs over the weekend, that leaves us at 2 days...sorry I been MIA for 2 days, ha! Did you miss me? Yeah, I know! Anyways, here is your tuesday thoughts!

  • aaaannnnddd...I go blank!
  • I got my hair cut Sunday . . .
  • before and after below:

  • Have to say, best $22 Hair Cuttery cut I have gotten
  • well...it was my first time going there, ha!
  • But $22 (plus tip) sure beats $50.
  • After having a little one, expensive hair cuts are just not needed anymore!
  • Am I right?
  • Just when I think Shelby can't get any more adorable, she goes and does this . . .
  • "SMILE!"

  • fingers on the cheeks for a smile, come on . . . cute right?
  • She puts her baby and her puppy to sleep throughout the day by placing a blanket over them, then hitting gently rubbing their backs to sleep!
  • She loves giving "uugs" to us, her baby, her puppy and now to random books!
  • PS puppy isn't a real puppy but a wooden pull toy puppy!
  • I have a goal to write down all the words that Shelby can say and I will update you in an 18 month blog post!
  • Happy Tuesday!

the impact of 2 words

Today started like any other Tuesday. Get up, shower, go to work. Then something happened at lunch that will forever remain in my head . . .

I picked up lunch at Panera Bread but on my way back to work I was sitting at a red light when I saw a couple on the side of the road. The woman was sitting in the grass with a dog and the man was standing next to a road holding a sign. I began to read the sign "homeless . . ." then the man turned the sign over where it read "need smiles" and I looked at him and he was looking right back at me. I thought to myself, "he can't be looking at me, I am 4 lanes over", but I put on a half smile for the sign and the homeless man smiled back.

This homeless guy, doesn't know me, I don't know him, yet his two words impacted me so much. Such two little words can brighten up someones day. When I half smiled at him, it seemed to lighten his spirits. Someone who has less than me and a smile made their day. At least that it how it felt anyways.

Need smiles . . . everyone needs to learn how to just smile. When I am not smiling I have a natural frown, so I know why he flipped his sign for me. It wasn't just for him, but for me. I didn't get his picture, but his 2 words will stay in my head day to day forever. I hope sharing this story with you means his 2 words stays with you as well.

New Fav Photo {& a challenge}

I can't stop staring at this picture I took of Shelby two weekends ago. It is by far my new favorite photo and I plan to print it out and display it in the house! Isn't she just a doll?

A plus from this adoreable picture? Her pink bow, which qualifies me for The Paper Mama "Pink" Photo Challenge! This is my first time entering a photo into The Paper Mama blog photo challenge!
